Case Study: Selling to a developer can sometimes lead to a higher price than selling the business;
The owner of this charming building in South London (at one time a small church) ran an electrical motor repair business from the premises. He wanted to sell up and retire. He had been trying to sell the business along with the freehold to a trade buyer, but was not receiving offers which were acceptable to him.
We approached him with an offer to buy the building, subject to securing planning permission to convert the building into apartments. The price was more in line with his expectations.
We agreed a deal and once we achieved planning permission for redevelopment, we completed on the purchase which allowed the owner to retire with a nice nest egg.
If you have a commercial property anywhere in London or the home counties and are considering selling, get in contact as we may be able to offer you more than a regular commercial property investor or a trade buyer.
