It is with many emotions that we announce today that we have received planning permission for change of use to convert our ground floor pub in South East London into family-friendly flats.

Normally when we have planning permission granted, it is cause for celebration. We don't deny that we are happy to have received this, (especially given how challenging it was to obtain,) but it comes tinged with a degree of melancholy.
We like good pubs that are well managed and provide a positive benefit to the community - particularly when they are family-friendly places. However, the cold reality is that these need to be commercially viable; It cannot be a loss-making business. Unfortunately for our pub, there just wasn't sufficient demand in the area for a credible operator to want to properly invest themselves into it.
We will now be working hard to bring new life back into the existing building by making them into neighbourly new homes. We hope this will allow local buyers, particularly first time buyers, to stay within the community they know.
Many thanks to our collaborators Rolfe Judd Planning, Christie & Co, Irwin Mitchell, and Z Group.
Stay tuned as we progress this...
